Emotional Memory

 Journals for January 8, 2021

Drama 9:  Actors use a technique called "emotional memory" to create the sense of true emotion on stage.  An actor will try to remember a time when they experienced the feeling of the character they are playing.  In the monologues you are preparing, what emotions are the characters experiencing?  Think of a time you felt this same way.  What were the circumstances of that experience?  How did it manifest itself (physically, emotionally)?  What did you actually do about the situation?

Remember, you will be performing your monologues on January 18 and 19.

Drama 8:  What should Ms. Kosar know about you?  You should write about your past drama experiences (if you have any; if not, say that).  Do you have stage fright at all?  (Probably you are not alone in this.)  Why did you take Drama?  (What do you hope to learn or do in the class?)  Do you do any sort of performing (musical, athletic, magic, etc.)?  Add anything you think you would like to share.

Remember, you will recite "All the world's a stage" on January 13.

Journals are due on Tuesday!
